Authorities are bracing for what could be a major protest outside of the auto show charity preview Friday night.
A long list of groups led by the Democratic Socialists of America include congresswoman Rashida Tlaib and Detroit city councilwoman Raquel Castaneda-Lopez.
Other groups that will join in are the East Michigan Environmental Action Council,
Detroit League of Revolutionaries, Unifor Local 222 of Canada, and the Green Party.
They say they are protesting GM plant closings and they say they want a just, green economy.
