Body Found In Burned House Long After The Fire

Detroit Police making a follow-up on a missing person report made a tragic discovery. A burned body found in a vacant house in Detroit weeks after the fire was put out was identified as the adult son of the longtime police official Bill Dwyer. Dwyer is the Warren police commissioner. Officials say the body of 55 year old Michael Dwyer was found in that west side house. The Detroit Fire Commissioner says it was too dangerous to search the house after the fire. But the fire-fighters union says they don’t have enough training or equipment to do the job properly. It was Southfield Police which investigated a missing person case that led to the discovery of the body. Bill Dwyer is the former police chief of Farmington Hills and was the head of the narcotics division of Detroit Police.

The Dwyer family is asking for privacy as they mourn the death of Michael Dwyer.
