Detroit Cops Get Pay Raise

Good news for Detroit police officers— they will get an immediate 2 percent raise and a 2.5 percent increase in each of their last two years in a new contract between the city and the Detroit Police Officer’s Association.

The union represents more than 1,600 Detroit police officers. The DPOA has agreed to a two-year contract extension that gives officers a 7 percent base wage increase over three years. Officers will also get four holidays restored that were lost during the city’s bankruptcy.
