New Water Systems For Detroit Schools

Get the water flowing again.
The Detroit school board and the superintendent hope to get a new water station system installed in schools, using corporate donors to pay for it.
The water was turned off before the start of the school year because of high levels of lead and copper found at the water fountains.
A report says Mason Elementary and Middle school had 54 times the amount of lead allowed under federal regulations, and Bethune school had 30 times the amount of copper.
School officials blame the old pipes in the schools. The water coming into the buildings is safe.
