Another in a series of state-wide sessions to collect public input on proposed changes to state social studies standards is to be held in Detroit today.
The proposed changes have been controversial as some call for removing references to climate change, gays and lesbians and the term, ‘core Democratic values.’
Education officials say they want to get public feedback before any final decisions are made.
Tonight’s meeting will be held at Detroit’s King High School from 6 until 8 o’clock..
Public comments are also being taken on line at michigan.gov through September 30th.
