Ford Corktown Project: $740 Million

Ford Motor Company has revealed how much it expects to spend to renovate the old train station, and other nearby properties : 740-million dollars.
That’s how much Ford estimates it will cost to develop it’s campus for autonomous and electric vehicle technology in Corktown.
The project is spread across 5 buildings, featuring the vacant Michigan Central Station, which will be the anchor.
A former school book depository building will be renovated… an old metal factory will be demolished…. a new building will take it’s place… and two new parking decks will be built.
Work will start next year.
Work is also underway to obtain tax incentives totaling 250-million over more than 30 years from state, federal, and local sources.
