Licenses High On List For Pot Panel

Michigan’s Medical Marijuana Licensing Board is to meet today.

The board has been dealing with a growing list of problems in awarding medical marijuana licenses.

At its meeting last month, it did award its first four licenses in what is expected to become a 700-million dollar industry in the state.

The state legislature had passed laws in December of 2016 to tax and regulate the market, but getting the rules in place and the licenses awarded has been a tedious process.

The board, to date, has received almost 600 applications for medical marijuana licenses.
