Ballot Snafus Checked Out

Long lines and waits occurred at some voting precincts in Oakland County, due to what some local clerks said was a shortage of election ballots.
But the county clerk, Lisa Browne, says she’s looking into snafus at the local level that may have contributed.

For example, Browne says some local clerks had more ballots sent to them but the ballots didn’t arrive at the precincts. Browne also says some local precincts were not supplied the right size paper so that new ballots could be printed on the spot. Browne confirms that voter turnout was much higher than predicted for the primary.

The Michigan Secretary of State says the turnout was larger than expected.
