Cops Look Up, Find Cash At Priest Home

He’s asking for donations for his criminal defense. But a search of the home of a Catholic priest near Lansing who is charged with stealing more than 5-million dollars from his church found 63-thousand dollars in cash stuffed in the ceiling tiles in the basement of the mansion.
The search was Tuesday and was the second search of the home of Rev. Jonathon Wehrle. Most of the cash was in 2-thousand dollar bundles of 20-dollar bills. They were wrapped in paper bands with the words “For deposit only- St. Martha Parish and School.”
Rev. Wehrle is trying to raise money for his legal defense.
