It’s Michigan’s largest youth event and it’s taking place today.
It’s the 36th annual Metro Detroit Youth Day at the athletic field on Belle Isle. It will involve more than 40-thousand children from 8 to 15 years old.
They will play games, attend sports clinics, a nature zoo, horse buggy rides, educational exhibits, sports stars, sports mascots and a get free lunch.
Businessman and organizer Ed Deeb created the event after Mayor Young asked him to come up with something for kids.
