Train Depot Clock Will Be Restored, Too

A scrapper who stole a clock that hung on a Michigan Central Train Station gateway has returned the antique timepiece, sending Ford to a vacant building to find it.

The Henry Ford museum in Dearborn received a phone call last week from a mystery man who said the depot clock wanted to “go home.” Museum officials contacted Ford Land Development .

Text messages were exchanged. The man said “I only have the clock. I left it leaning against a burned-out building on Lawton. It is between Warren and Buchanan. It has been missing for over 20 years and is ready to go home. Thank you so much.”

Bill Ford tells WJR News they found the clock, which was wrapped up, and it was authenticated as the original clock.
Ford says it, like the train depot, will be restored.
