Can Duggan Deliver On School Push?

Better education equals better jobs.

That was the focus of Detroit Mayor Duggan’s state of the city speech heard on WJR.
Duggan announced the start of a new bus system designed to take kids to any school their family chooses in the city, based on a system in use in River Rouge that the mayor likes.
Duggan committed resources to help with career tech, and mentioned several times the millions of dollars available to the Detroit Promise for two-year and four-year college degrees.
Duggan says many jobs are available in Detroit for those trained for them—- and are posted on a city program called Detroit At Work.
