“Clear Concise How-To Advice”: Glenn Haege Dies

One of the great voices on WJR has been silenced.

America’s Master Handyman Glenn Haege died surrounded by his family following a short bout with cancer.

The 70 year old Haege has been a fixture on Detroit radio for 34 years and was heard here on WJR every Saturday and Sunday morning.

Haege’s long-time executive producer Rob David remembers Glenn as a person who loved being with people.

David also remembered that Glenn treated every caller with the utmost respect.

And that connection with his listeners translated into his success.

Haege’s radio show, eminating from WJR, was nationally syndicated in 135 markets and he was elected to the Michigan Broadcasters Hall of fame in 2011.

Haege is survived by his wife Barbara,  their adult children Eric and Heather, his mother Marion, a sister, Sharon, a brother, Robert, and six grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
