The NFL commissioner is coming to Detroit on Tuesday.

Roger Goodell will be in town to visit the newly renovated Ford Field, Lions team president Rod Wood announced during Saturday’s broadcast on the Lions Radio Network. Wood joined Dan Miller and Jim Brandstatter in the radio booth during the third quarter of the Lions 16-6 win over the New York Jets to make the announcement.

“Roger Goodell, the NFL commissioner, is going be here and Mrs. Ford and I are going to take him on a tour of the renovations and I’ll try to do a little soft selling on trying to get the [NFL] Draft and the Superbowl here,” Wood said.

The Lions spent over $100 million on new video boards, displays and ribbon boards, a new sound system, improved Wi-Fi and suite renovations during the offseason. Wood has been making a push for the Lions to host an NFL Draft or Superbowl for well over a year now.

On Tuesday evening, the Lions will be hosting a special fan forum with Goodell and former Lions Herman Moore, Lomas Brown and Jason Hanson. The event will also be streamed on the Lions website and Wood says he and Goodell will be answering questions from fans in attendance and via email.

“It will be streaming live on the website. I think we will be starting at 5:30 p.m. ET for those that want to watch it and listen in. Send in a tough question or two. I understand the commissioner likes things unscripted and a lot of very pointed questions. So, I look forward to having him in town.”
