Next Stop: Baltimore Station

Another redevelopment project is underway in Detroit’s New Center area.

They call it Baltimore Station. Groundbreaking was done to redo two vacant buildings along Woodward near the Amtrak Station. It includes 8-thousand square feet of retail space and two dozen apartments on the 2nd and 3rd floors.
3 students at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business came up with the concept, and they were hired by The Platform to carry it out. This phase of the project will be completed by the end of the year. The development will include the Woodpile BBQ Shack and an artisan bakery.
It’s the latest by The Platform, led by civil booster Peter Cummings, which is working on a number of projects in Detroit.
