Old Tiger Stadium to be named for Willie Horton

Willie HortonThe old Tiger stadium site will be named after Tiger great Willie Horton. Horton.  A Detroit native who played 15 seasons with the Tigers and is now advisor to Tiger General Manager Al Avila, Horton will speak tomorrow at a ground breaking ceremony. The Police Athletic League is looking to take over the site. The specific name has not been announced but a couple of ideas are: Willie Horton Field or Willie Horton Field of Dreams. The 73-year-old Horton played ball at Northwestern High School before the Tigers signed him in 1961.
