Millions of Americans continue to cope with severe flooding in the Midwest. National Weather Service Meteorologist Jennifer Gray says about 400 rivers are above flood stage and the Mississippi and Meramec rivers are expected to crest higher than known in documented history. Debris is extensive from the flooding: The water treatment facility was flooded, so now there’s untreated sewage flowing into the river. Trash and house roofs are even floating by. Extensive cleanup will be required to restore a healthy environment.
