Joseph L. Hudson Jr. will be in Detroit this week to accept an award from the Detroit Economic Club. J. L. Hudson said he’s waiting like everybody else to find out what will happen to the site of old Hudson’s store in Downtown. He expects the famous block of the former Hudson’s store to become another great center of activity. Dan Gilbert’s Bedrock Real Estate now owns the site. Following the 1967 riots, J. L. Hudson Jr. became one of the founders of New Detroit and he continues on the board of the Hudson-Webber Foundations.
