Seasonal flu vaccine available starting this Monday at Macomb County Health Department

The Macomb County Health Department will begin administering seasonal flu vaccine on Monday, Sept. 28 at its Mount Clemens, Warren and St. Clair Shores health centers.

The 2015-2016 flu vaccine is recommended for everyone 6 months of age and older. Vaccination is especially important for people at high risk for serious flu complications and their close contacts.

The timing of flu activity is very unpredictable and can vary in different parts of the country and from year to year. Most seasonal flu activity typically occurs between October and May.

“Encourage your loved ones to get vaccinated to protect themselves, their families and our community,” said William Ridella, director, Macomb County Health Department. “A flu vaccine is our best defense against getting the flu.”
