Chippewa Valley football player killed

They used to call it “hell week”- The first week of high school football practice. This will be a difficult time for the Chippewa Valley High School football team in Clinton Township. Not just because of the hard practices but the mourning of a senior teammate.

17-year-old, Duncan Blair, was killed last Thursday afternoon when his four-wheel off-road vehicle struck a tree in Oscoda Township.

Visitation for Duncan Blair will take place Tuesday, Aug. 11 from 2-9 p.m. at Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home in Sterling Heights.

The funeral is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 12 at 10 a.m. at Rockpointe Community Church in Sterling Heights. The Big Reds, have dealt with death before when last April 17-year-old Nick Ureel, died of cancer.
