As boating season begins, drinking and boating laws tighten

Memorial Day is the official start of the summer boating season. It also ushers in the tightening of blood-alcohol limits on the Great Lakes. The threshold for being intoxicated while piloting a boat falls from .10 to .08. Also, as part of the new change, any boater who does not submit to a Breathalyzer test, can and will be arrested.
